New Recycling Opportunity in Millheim Borough

The Centre County Solid Waste Authority has placed a gray corrugated cardboard recycling bin at the Millheim Borough Building.  Residents are asked to place only dry, clean, non-waxy cardboard in this bin.

In addition to the newly placed corrugated cardboard recycling bin, there are also two recycling bins for the following items: steel and aluminum cans, plastic bottles, jugs & jars, clear, green/blue and brown glass bottles & jars as well as newspapers, mixed office paper, junk mail, paperboard and magazines.

The first Monday of every month Millheim Borough employees provide a curb-side brush pickup.  (When a Holiday falls on this day, pickup is the second Monday of the month.)  All brush must be 6 inches or less in diameter.  This service is provided from April through December.  The January pickup is the second Monday of the month to allow residents to put Christmas trees out along the curb for pickup.   During the summer months grass clippings will also be collected on this day. Clippings and yard waste must be kept separate from the brush.  Call Glenn Ripka at 349-8177 no later than the Friday before to arrange for this pickup.

Each year an annual leaf collection is provided.  Borough employees provide this service from the middle of October to the middle of November.  Call Glenn Ripka at 349-8177 at least one day prior to arrange for this collection.
